PURPOSE:To provide a method for photochemically synthesizing oxygencontaining hydrocarbon compound from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of a photochemical catalyst. CONSTITUTION:This method for continuously producing an oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compound from carbon dioxide comprises dispersing a photosynthesis catalyst in an aqueous solution high in a hydrogen ion concentration, continuously blowing the carbon dioxide into the aqueous solution, simultaneously irradiating the aqueous solution with light for synthesizing the oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compound, separating and recovering the oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compound contained in the unreacted carbon dioxide gas with an adsorption tower, and subsequently recycling the recovered unreacted carbon dioxide into the photoreactor. |
