<p>PURPOSE: To vertically apply force in the longitudinal direction of a bottle and crush the same by periodically varying the depth of the bottle in the transverse direction around transverse corrugations between the maximum value and the minimum value of the dimension heading for toward the axial direction of the bottle. CONSTITUTION: The wall of a bottle is provided with the thickness in a given range based on the weight of a roughly finished product, and areas formed of sections P1 and P2 are so formed as to provide the wavy forms or corrugations 10 including a vertical annular section or protrusions 11 and recesses or grooves 12. On the other hand, the protrusions 11 are formed on an annular cylinder having an outer side face 13 away from a bottle axis A by a given distance and vertical to the axis A, and the depth of grooves 12 is varied along the corrugations 10. In the variation of the depth, the grooves 12 are of the minimum depth (b) and grooves 12i+1 are of the maximum depth (a), and the maximum and the minimum depths are formed periodically. The bottle can be crushed completely just by a small force by the arrangement.</p> |
