PRODUCTION OF POTATO MICRO-TUBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a potato micro-tuber grown to a state suitable for storage and field cultivation by culturing a potato plant in a medium having high sugar concentration under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A potato plant is cultured on a medium containing preferably 6-10 W/V% of sugar such as sucrose, e.g. Murashige Skoog medium of pH 5.8 for 1-4 weeks under a long-day condition and the cultured plant is further cultured in dark place until a micro-tuber is produced. The long-day condition is preferably achieved by irradiating the potato plant with light for 6-12 hr per day.
