METHOD OF SEARCH FOR HYDROCARBON DEPOSIT

The proposed method of finding hydrocarbon deposits involves measuring concentrations of biogenic rock components of the class of high-molecular compounds, said measurements being undertaken both vertically and laterally at different sites in the geological region under investigation. The presence of deposits is gauged by the rising concentrations of the biogenic compounds in question as the distance to any hydrocarbon deposit which may be present diminishes, the reference threshold concentration value being taken as 0.01 %.
