Proposed is a lock for a case or chest, in particular a metal tool chest, the lock having two spring-biased arrester hooks and catches, acting between the lid and main body of the chest, plus two locking hooks and catches acting between the arrester hooks and catches. One arrester hook (3) and one locking hook (4) are mounted on each of two finger-operated slide-plates (1, 2) which are located essentially inside the handle of the chest and kept in the closed position by a compression spring (10). Each of the arrester hooks (3) and locking hooks (4) engages with the same catch edge (5, 6) on the main body (9) of the chest. |
