<p>The movable plug (13) works against a seat (5) in a passage (3) through the valve housing (2), while the membrane (28) is fixed to the housing on the outside and the plug on the inside. At the side of the membrane furthest from the passage there is a seal (24) between the plug and housing and which forms with the membrane a closed chamber (29) filled with an incompressible and distorting supporting medium. At this side of the membrane the plug is so shaped that the volume of the chamber remains constant during movement of the plug. The seal can be of the sliding type and of soft material, and liquid can be used as the supporting medium.</p> |
