Lighting or display device using surface-mounted LED Chips

The device has a circuit board supporting at least one surface-mounted LED chip, with an associated light conductor for providing a uniform light intensity distribution, with reflection points across its surface. The surface of the light conductor has a random arrangement of geometric figures, to provide a diffuse reflective surface, with the ratio between the reflective surface to the total surface area corresponding to a selected range of the damping characteristic for a constant light distribution. Pref. the reflection surface has a continuous damping characteristic, obtained by localised variation in the surface structure.
