An operating component (4) in the issue position for a contact lens in so pressed from below against the accommodation shell (2) that the latter is elastically upwardly deformed. In the storage position for a contact lens the operating component (4) does not press against the accommodation shell which thus remains in its non-deformed rest position. A retainer (3) secures the contact lens in the accommodation shell (2) and has a basket (32) which is so matched to the contour of the accommodation shell that in the storage position between the accommodation shell and the basket an intermediate space in available, in which a contact lens is floatingly held.
