<p>A method, system and recording medium wherein data are written by means of a write beam comprising a first optical beam at a first wavelength superimposed on a second beam at a second wavelength shorter than the first, and read out by means of a second optical beam at the second wavelength. The material of the recording medium is a non-linear material having a recording threshold located between the maximum value of the sum of the energy of the two beams and an energy level in the region of the maximum energy value of the first beam. Said method, system and recording medium are useful for high density recording on optical discs.</p> |
