The invention relates to a hinge between a spectacle bow and a frame for spectacle lenses. At its end to be secured to the frame, the bow has an articulation (1) which can be directly coupled to a mating retainer (7) on the frame without any snap action. The articulation (1) has an extension secured to the bow with a pin (4), whereby the ends (5, 6) of the pin (4) project beyond the extension on either side thereof. The retainer (7) has two spaced arms (8, 9), each of which surrounds one of the ends (5, 6) of the pin (4) projecting beyond the extension of the articulation (1). At least one of the arms (9) only partially surrounds the end (5) of the pin, forming an insertion aperture (12). When the pin (4) is inserted into the pin acceptance aperture, the extension is fed through the insertion aperture (12) by shifting the pin (4) along its longitudinal axis. The proposed hinge is to be as universally usable as possible, stable and easy to fit. It is to be as small as possible. To this end the insertion aperture (12) is outside the pivoting range of the extension (3) obtained when the bow is pivoted between its unfolded and folded positions.
