METHOD FOR ELIMINATING OZONE IN FACILITY FOR HANDLING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE

PURPOSE:To control deterioration of a globe and various chemical products and to increase safety and to enhance maintenance and also to increase the working rate of an instrument and a facility by eliminating ozone generated in a facility where a radioactive substance is handled. CONSTITUTION:An adapter 40 fitted with a nozzle is attached to the suction HEPA filter 16 of a globe box 10. Nitrogen monoxide in a gas cylinder 42 is supplied together with suction air continuously or intermittently into the globe box in accordance with the concentration of generated ozone and uniformly diffused in the inside to reduce and eliminate ozone existing in the inside. Unsaturated hydrocarbon gas (pinene, hexene, pentene) may be used instead of nitrogen monoxide gas.
