PURPOSE:To obtain an antiobestic medicine having low adverse effect, low toxicity and high antiobestic action, comprising a 3-ketosteroid compound as an active ingredient CONSTITUTION:This antiobestic medicine comprises a 3-ketosteroid compound such as 5-cholesten-3-one of the formula as an active ingredient. 5beta-Cholestan-3- one, cholesta-4,6-diene-3-one, 6beta bromo-4-cholesten-3-one, 6-hydroxy-4-cholesten-3- one or 4-cholesten-3,6-dione may be cited as the 3-ketosteroid compound besides the 5-cholesten-3-one of the formula. The antiobestic medicine contains at least one selected from a group comprising these compounds. The antiobestic medicine is directly added to a food or fats and oils as a raw material for a food and can be used. The amount of the antiobestic medicine added is 1-5,000mg of the 3-ketosteroid compound based on 100g of fats and oils. The antiobestic medicine is pharmaceutically manufactured into a medicine and can be used. The dose in the case of oral administration is 1-1,000mg/kg body weight of adult as weight of the 3-ketosteroid compoud. |
