PURPOSE:To obtain an adhesive protein gene of blue mussel, coding a specific amino acid sequence, usable in water or in a wet environment, exhibiting strong tackiness and useful for the production of adhesive protein of blue mussel. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive protein gene of blue mussel codes the amino acid sequence expressed by sequence table. The adhesive protein gene is produced by separating the whole adhesive protein cDNA absolutely devoid of the sequence of 6 peptides consisting of Ala-Lys-Pro-Thr-Tyr-Lys and containing a polyadenylic acid chain adding signal in addition to the sequence from the initiation codon to the termination codon from a cDNA library prepared from mRNA extracted from the foot of Japanese blue mussel and determining the base sequence of the separated cDNA. |
