<p>PURPOSE: To provide a printing method and apparatus improved so as to perform printing without generating a blank in the leading end and rear end of an image. CONSTITUTION: A recording paper is clamped only on one side thereof at the paper feed initial position of a drum 10 and, when the leading end of the recording paper is positioned at the initial recording position of the drum 10, the clamping of the recording paper is released. A clamp operating mechanism operating a clamp so as to again clamp the recording paper at a position passing the initial recording position to transfer the same and a recording head operating mechanism operating a recording head 200 so as to press the other side not clamped of the recording paper by the recording head 200 at first when the leading end of the recording paper is present at the initial recording position to press the region released from clamping of the recording paper by the recording head 200 are included. By this constitution, image paper having no blank at the leading end of a printed image is obtained.</p> |
