PURPOSE:To provide such a negative electrode that is formed into a Li secondary battery superior in charge/discharge capacity, energy density, and charge/ discharge cycle life, even if it is used as a large-area body such as a tape-like matter. CONSTITUTION:A Li secondary battery negative electrode is provided with a diffusion barrier layer 2 composed of liquid lithium or a conductor hard to respond with liquid alloy, on a current collector tape 1 and a wet promoting layer 3 composed of liquid lithium or a conductor having an affinity with liquid lithium alloy, on the diffusion barrier layer. A hot dipping layer 4 of 30mum or less in thickness composed of lithium or lithium alloy is formed on the wet promoting layer. A tape shaped, large-area, negative electrode with current collector tape, which is superior in uniform thickness, surface flatness, and uniform property, has stable quality for active materials hard to fall, and is faborable of winding treatment for its superior strength, can be thus obtained easily. |
