Current limiter for high tension supply line protection

The current limiter includes a transformer and one or more superconducting elements. The primary of the transformer (E1) is connected in series with the circuit to be protected. The secondary of the transformer is sub-divided into a number of smaller coil elements (E21, E22 etc.). Each of the small coil elements is individually connected to a superconducting element (S1, S2 etc.). The mid-points of the secondary windings may be connected to earth.
