<p>PURPOSE:To enable the application of an inexpensive low voltage output type source driver by forming counter electrodes of a strip of fancy paper shape in a state of opposing to a pixel electrodes line connected through a signal line and a thin film transistor. CONSTITUTION:Many gate bus lines 1 functioning as scanning lines are arranged side by side on one side substrate, and many source bus lines 2 functioning as the signal lines are arranged side by side intersecting with the gate bus lines 1. Plural counter electrodes 6 in the strip of fancy paper shape are formed on a display medium side of the other side substrate, and respective counter electrodes 6 are provided opposing to by one line of pixel electrodes 4 connected to the source bus lines through TFTs 3. A common signal is impressed to respective counter electrodes 6 from common driving circuits 9a, 9b. In such a manner, since the counter electrodes are driven by an AC common signal, the common signal is superimposed on a source signal applied to a pixel, and the inexpensive low voltage output type source driver is applicable.</p> |
