The device efficiently detects the size of paper for the copy machine, facsimile, laser printer. The device includes a sensor (8) which is fixed to the main body (9), a supporter (51) having fixed members (54,54') formed on its sides, latch members (53,53') projectinely and integrally formed on the bottom side of a guide plate (52), guide openings (21,21') to receive and guide the latch members (53,53'), sawteeth (23,23') which are connected to the sawtooth of fixed plate, a paper detector (7), and a contact hole(76) connected to the assembly contactors (53,53').
