A transient-operation-based correction device incrementally or decrementally corrects the quantity of the fuel supplied by the fuel supply device to the engine, according to the detected acceleration or deceleration. A combustion state detector detects a parameter correlated to the instability of engine combustion. An incremental correction level adjust device adjusts an incremental correction level provided by the temperature-based incremental corrector, according to the detected parameter. A transient-operation-based correction level adjuster adjusts a correction level provided by the transient-operation-based correction device, according to the degree of adjustment done by the incremental correction level adjust device on a reference incremental correction level.
