<p>PURPOSE: To partially illuminate a part of a glass balustrade with light passing inside the balustrade. CONSTITUTION: A lower part of a glass balustrade 6 is covered with an inner skirt panel 10 and an outer deck panel 14, and a neon tube 18, a parabolic mirror 20, a converging lens 24 and a collimator lens 26 are accommodated inside. Light reflected by the parabolic mirror 20 is collected by the converging lens 24 and becomes thin parallel beams 28 in the collimator lens 26 to be projected to a lower face 7 of the balustrade 6. The beams 28 travel upward while repeating total reflection in the balustrade 6. A glass rail 16 is bonded to the side face of the balustrade 6, and the light beam passing through the balustrade 6 is dispersed wide and emits a light through the rail 16.</p> |
