[Also in Division F1] Oil which drains off a stator or compressor of a sealed-motor compressor for a refrigerating unit, is conducted over at least part of its return path to the sump by means of a guide element. The latter may be a metal wire or band or may be a plastics thread or band, and may extend from the draining point to the oil sump, to a point immediately adjacent thereto or to the wall of a housing. In an embodiment a motor compressor 3 is mounted in a housing having parts 1 and 2 and comprises a motor section 4 and a compressor section 5, the two sections being connected by means of a motor-carrying member 6. The compressor 3 is supported by a number of members 7 which are fixed on the member 6 and supported, via spiral wound coils springs 8, on a strap 9 inserted in the housing. Lubricant is conveyed to the lubricating points by means of a hollow shaft having an end 12 extending into a sump 13. Surplus oil is thrown off in the region of the upper end 14 of the shaft and is returned to the sump via the wall of the housing. Oil is thrown off from the motor shaft &c. and is collected in the motor-carrying member 6 and a drain hole 18 is formed in the wall 17 of the member 6, so that a wire 19, which is positioned in the hole 18, can convey the oil to a position adjacent to a sump 13. Alternatively, a plastics strip 20 may be used to convey oil to the inner wall of the housing. Oil may also be conveyed to the sump by means of a plastics thread 21 which is attached to the lower end of stator 10.</p> |
