DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY WRAPPING AND BINDING SASADANGO OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To automatically throttle the end parts of a folded bamboo leaf in a state wrapping a dumpling in the folded bamboo leaf and automatically binding the throttled part of the folded bamboo leaf with a string. CONSTITUTION:An automatic wrapping and binding device for SASADANGO (dumpling wrapped in a bamboo leaf) comprises a bamboo leaf end-gathering mechanism 41 and an upper part-throttling and binding mechanism 70. The bamboo leaf-gathering mechanism 41 is used for throttling the raised end of the bamboo leaf into a folded state by allowing a pair of tine bodies disposed at places near to a binding center P to act on a wrapping slide frame 25 on which a work piece is fit into the folded bamboo leaf at the binding center P. The upper part-throttling and binding mechanism 70 is used for winding a binding string on the outer periphery of the throttled bamboo leaf for binding the throttled part by disposing a hook needle on the lower end of a cylinder part connected in a state capable of being rotated with a rotation means above the binding center P and subsequently rotating the cylinder part by the rotation means. The hook needle can hold the upper part of the throttled bamboo leaf, catch the binding string inserted into the throttled bamboo leaf and tighten the caught binding string.
