PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a controller for a steam type humidifier, make the handling of the same simple and further eliminate irregularity in sensors by using a temperature sensor for detecting indoor moisture. CONSTITUTION:Each resistance change of a temperature sensor A8, to which water from a water absorbing device is applied, and a temperature sensor B5 disposed at an external air inlet port, through which the external air is taken in, is converted into a voltage by resistors 30, 29, connected in series to the temperature sensors A8 and B5, respectively. The voltage thus obtained is inputted into circuits connected in series to the temperature sensors A8 and B5, respectively, and further inputted into analog/digital ports (hereinafter called A/D ports) I2, I3, of a microcomputer 32 connected in parallel to the circuits to be converted into a temperature. Temperature differences between the temperature sensors A8 and B5 are found out by the microcomputer 32, and an operation formula is set on the basis of the differences to calculate moisture, thus controlling a heater 7 and a motor fan 9.
