PURPOSE:To provide a recording apparatus capable of obtaining printing output of high quality regardless of the kind of recording paper and simple in constitution and a recording medium used in the recording apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 4 constituted of a base material l, the hot-melt type color ink layer 2 applied to the base material 1 and the membrane function layer 3 formed on the color ink layer 2 by overcoating treatment is used to perform the writing of a desired output image pixel to the membrane function layer 3 by a recording head. At this time, fine through-holes are formed to the membrane function layer 3 at the position corresponding to a desired output image pixel. When ink is fixed to recording paper 5, the recording medium 4 and the recording paper 5 are brought to a close contact state and the hot-melt type color ink layer 2 is activated by a fixing head. By bonding the recording medium 4 and the recording paper 5 under pressure, the hot-melt type color ink is transferred to the recording paper through the through-holes. The recording medium and the recording paper are peeled to obtain output printing. |
