PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method of a surface skin of an air bag door for an automobile where the periphery of the machined groove is smooth, the appearance is excellent, and the precision of the product is high. CONSTITUTION:In a manufacturing method of a surface skin of an air bag door for an automobile where a surface skin forming material 30 of the prescribed shape made of thermoplastic resin is pressed by the tip of a heating blade 20 to form a V-shaped groove 31 for machining in the surface skin forming material, the tip of the heating blade consists of a projecting part 21 of approximately V-shaped section and two flat surface parts 22, 22 extended from each side of a base part 23 of the projecting part in the direction approximately orthogonal to the pressing direction of the heating blade, and the surface skin forming material is pressed by the projecting part and the flat surface parts. |
