Equipment for recognizing the hourly signals transmitted by frequency modulation and for maintaining, in the time interval between one signal and the next, a local time with a maximum error of +- 1 millisecond. It can also be used to record events, with full details of the date and time, accurate to one millisecond, for each event, at a rate of up to one thousand per second, and, finally makes available the frequency of its own oscillator which is locked to the primary sample. It also recognizes and uses the second segment of the hourly signal. It essentially consists (Fig. 2) of a container of suitable material for protecting the internal parts from electrical and atmospheric discharges, etc., of two computers 2, 3 connected to each other; a power supply 5, an oscillator 6; a frequency sampling circuit, an input for the "user stop" 8; two serial outputs 9, 10; an accumulator 4, a loudspeaker 23; and a display 13. The invention relates to the field of applied electronics and its main field of application is that of the synchronization of computers or computer systems, e.g. in the fields of astronomy, telemetry, seismology, communications, energy, radio, television, and public service centres.

|
