PURPOSE:To move a succeeding character string in accordance with the number of characters in a candidate word and to display the moved character string by displaying an inputted English character string, specifying a word having the possibility of an error in its spelling by an operator's instruction, substituting a correct candidate word for the specified word, and displaying a correct character string. CONSTITUTION:An SVC board 6 is provided with a program ROM 108 storing a program for selecting a corresponding candidate based upon data in an SVC controlling CPU 16 and a dictionary 17. The CPU 16 controls the selection of a candidate and the transfer of data between a main bus 12 and a CPU 1 through interface logic 11 as follows. In a first method (1), a word is received from the main bus 12 through the logic 11, whether the received word is a correct word or not is inspected and the inspected result is returned to the main bus 12. In a second method (2), a word is received from the main bus 12 and a word analogized from the received word is returned to the main bus 12 as a correct candidate word against an incorrect word. |
