Press for prodn. of briquettes from various materials including a proportion of thermoplastics includes a conical inlet channel (1) tapering inwards towards a cylindrical channel (2). Inward facing flanges (3) extend from the inner wall of the conical channel (1) and run axially towards the cylindrical channel (2). Both channels (1, 2) and the flanges are heated to at least the softening temp. of the thermoplastic material.
