The joint between a pair of pipe ends comprises a first pipe end with an insert(1), a second pipe end(2) having an internal radial groove(3) housing a seal ring(10), and a split, cone shaped, locking ring(34). - The seal ring, having a radial recess(28) formed between an outer seal lip(24) and an inner seal lip(26), is held in place in the radial groove by the split locking ring. An external support ring may be located over the outside of the joint to make a secure fixing and the inner seal lip makes a contact seal against the outer surface of the second pipe end. |
