A process for the prepn. of an anode-mixt. for an alk. battery comprises forming a slurry by adding water, a binder (MnO2, graphite) and electrolyte(KOH). Spherical particles were obtained by spraying the slurry into a drying chamber. The particles were molded to give an anode mixt.
