The clock uses the same mechanism to drive the time pointer hands and the pendulum balance spheres. The seconds hand is driven by a wheel (3), common with the pendulum, with its revolution intervals regulated by a spiral spring (6). This weak spring may not retard the hour time mechanism and provides sphere return force and initial displacement. A stem, within the spring turns may avoid spring deformation during its movement. The movement (1) may be of the quartz, battery energised type. The seconds hand axis (2) may carry a plastic six toothed wheel (3), transmitting motion to a pendulum arm (4), freely pivoted (5). The other arm end may connect to the spring, successively tensioning and relaxing it, providing sphere movement and pointer rotation.
