Compsn. for studying and modulating cellular changes, comprise one or more lectins or their sugar-binding subunits, and one or more sugars specific for the lectins. The lectin component comprises mistletoe lectins MLI, MLII and/or MLIII or their B chains. Sugar component comprises galactose and/or N-acetylgalactose and/or their derivs. esp. glycoconjugates, oligomers or polymers. Sugar may be chemically bound to the lectin through a spacer.
