<p>Catalysts for (co)polymsn. of alkenes, made by reation of (a) a hydride or organometallic cpd. of a grp. I, II or III metal, and (b) the rea. prod. of (i) a halide, oxyhalide, or haloalcoholate of Ti or V, and (ii) a solid carrier consisting of or containing magnesium hydroxide. Cpds. (a) may be, eg., Al(C2H5)3, Al(C2H5)2Cl, A1(i-C4H9)3, Al(C2H5)H, Li(Al(C2H5)H, Li(Al(C4H9)4 etc. (bi) may be, eg. TiCl4, VCl4, vanadyl trichloride, Ti trichloracetylacetonate, etc. The carrier (b ii) is pref. magnesium hydroxide with a specific surface of at least 10 m2/g. pref. dried at 100-350 deg.C and opt. dry milled (eg. ball milled) before use.</p> |
