PURPOSE: To obtain a light-weight panel having excellent durability even when an upper surface is locally compression loaded by respectively adhering an upper skin and a lower skin to an upper surface and a lower surface of a honeycomb core sheet, and invading a foamable adhesive to an upper area of the core in the case of curing to adhere the upper skin by using the adhesive. CONSTITUTION: The honeycomb sandwich panel has, for example, an upper skin 1 and a lower skin 5 made, for example, of a glass fiber epoxy resin. To adhere the core 3 to the skin 1, a foamable adhesive 2 such as an epoxy resin is used. The adhesive 2 foams to invade the core 3 during a curing step to form a dense layer in the upper area of the core 3 to arbitrarily reinforce the upper surface of the panel. The skin 5 may be adhered by using a non- foamable epoxy resin or the like. The core 3 preferably has a bulk density of 11 to 55 1b/ft<3> , but may have a range of 41 to 61 1b/ft, and is formed of thermoplastic fiber paper such as inorganic paper, molding plastic, aramid fiber paper or the like or metal such as aluminum or the like. |
