PURPOSE:To improve fabricating workability and reduce a part cost by fixing an end part of a pad cover, housing an air bag and a gas generator, interposed between an side external surface part formed with a side internal surface part and the side internal surface part by bending partly a base plate. CONSTITUTION:In an air bag device, an air bag 1, gas generator 2 for inflating the air bag 1, retainer 18, etc., are mounted on a flat plate part 3A of a base plate 3, and the gas generator 2 is mounted to be inserted in a central mounting hole 11 of the flat plate part 3A. A pad cover 4 for housing the air bag 1 and the gas generator 2 is provided. Here by partly bending the base plate 3, a side internal surface part 6 is formed, and further by folding back this side internal surface part, a side external surface part 7 is formed, so that a hook part for fixing the pad cover 4 is formed. In this constitution, the side external surface part 7 is inserted in a fixed hole 10 of the pad cover 4, so as to fix a cover end part 5 interposed between the side external surface part 7 and the side internal surface part 6. |
