PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of smoke, etc., due to not providing a means for detecting whether or not a transfer paper is wound around a fixing roller in the case that the transfer paper is wound around the fixing roller but the wound paper is not removed. CONSTITUTION:A paper sensor 40 is arranged on the entrance side of a fixing device 122 and a paper sensor 41 and a paper sensor 42 for detecting the transfer paper wound around the fixing roller 10 are arranged on the exit side of the device 122. In the case a signal from the paper sensor 41 is not outputted for a long time since the leading end of the transfer paper is detected by the sensor 40, it is judged that jamming occurs. Besides, by driving the paper sensor 42 based on such the combination of signals and outputting the presence of the transfer paper by the paper sensor 42, it is recognized that the transfer paper is wound around the upper fixing roller 10, and then, the paper sensor 42 is released by the jammed paper in the case of removing the jammed paper. |
