The settee has a seat (1) and a back (2) which are joined together by a transversal articulation (3) perpendicular to the lying position of the user when it is opened into a bed. The seat and back have a mattress (4) on a mattress base formed by two rigid frames (5A,5B). An intermediate frame (5C) between the other two frames is joined to the back of the seat by a fixed lateral articulation (22). It is fixed to the bottom of the back by two mobile lateral articulations (24) which move in slides (26) on the back frame.
