PURPOSE:To attain good connection and to press all optical fibers under a uniform condition even in the case of multiple fibers exceeding two fibers by mounting a clamp via an elastic material at a clamping arm. CONSTITUTION:The front surface of the elastic material 40 is adhered to the clamping arm 36. A clamp made of, for example, square block-shaped ceramics or iron is used for the clamp 32. The front surface thereof is adhered to the rear surface of the elastic material 40. The front end 360 of the clamping arm 36 is bent square and this part as well as the elastic material 40 and the clamp 32 are not adhered to each other. The front end 360 plays the role of a stopper of the clamp. Friction arises between the optical fibers 16 and the clamp 32 at the time the optical fiber advances unless there is this part. A delicate inclination of the clamp 32 is then resulted and the secure pressing of the optical fibers into a V groove is infeasible. As a result, equal load is obtd. by the clamp 32 even if the two-fiber optical fibers 16 are placed in a position deviating from a center line 33. |
