The saucepan (1) has a handle (3) at each side and a groove around its upper edge into which the base (9) of the steamer (2) fits. The steamer has a handle at each side, and it can have a groove around its base in which the top of the saucepan fits. A lid (4) fits on to the saucepan and the steamer and has a central handle (5). The groove holds a joint (8), preferably made of rubber. The upper parts of the saucepan (10) and the steamer (11) are identical.
