PURPOSE:To reduce the internal loss of a battery and leakage current from a large capacitor by selectively connecting a (+) terminal of a battery to the other terminal of current limiting means or one end of motor control means in response to the voltage of the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:When the voltage V1 of a large capacitor 3 is decided to be lower than a reference voltage Vmax, a changeover switch 8 in which a point (a) is connected to the point (c) at the time of stopping a vehicle is switched to the connection of a point (b) to the point (c). Then, a power switch 25 is closed to turn ON the power supply of an electric motor vehicle, and the charge control switch 11 of a first chopper 4 is intermittently turned ON and OFF as current limiting means, thereby charging the capacitor 3. When the voltage V1 of the capacitor 3 is decided to be higher than the voltage Vmax, the output of a charge control switch 11 is stopped, the switch 8 is switched to connect the point (a) to the point (c), thereby finishing the controlling of the voltage V1 of the capacitor 3. |
