PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum interface by controlling an operating condition in accordance with distance between an operator and a device. CONSTITUTION:5, 5' and 8' indicate the detection area of the sensor 3a using infrared light as an example and 6, 7; 6' and 7'; 9 and 10 indecate the detection area of the sensor 3b using ultrasonic wave as the example in an operator detection sensor 3. When the operator is inside the detection area, presence of the operator and distance between the operator and the device are detected by reflection light or reflection wave. An LCD display part 25 is arranged on a display operating part 2, the operator detection sensor 3 is provided at a part of it and the inclined angle adjusting motor of the display part 25 is controlled by a sensor output. When the operator is detected, the display condition is controlled by the position. The setting condition of an applied voltage for the contrast adjustment of the display part 25 controlled. By this, the optimum machine interface is provided. |
