MECHANISM FOR TRANSMITTING MOVEMENT

The proposed mechanism comprises a cylindrical radially polarized piezo-element (1) which is surrounded around its circumference by a connecting unit (3) one end of which is fixed in relation to the support (5) while the other end is rigidly fixed to the end of a movable component in the form of a shaft (2). The other end of the shaft (2) is also attached, by a connecting rod aligned along a tangent to the piezo-element, to the connecting unit. When the piezo-element undergoes deformation, the movable element (2) turns about a defined angle under the action of the connecting unit (3) and the connecting rod (4). The range of movement and the force transmitted are increased appreciably by the combination on one piezo-element of n shafts with connecting units and connecting rods, and by the combination of n piezo-elements, bearing shafts and connecting elements and connecting rods.
