<p>The proposed ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprises: an ignition coil (1) whose primary winding (2) is connected to the power source (4) via an electronic switch (5); a capacitance unit (8) connected between the outputs of the primary winding; and a unit (6) for shaping a pulse series, the input of the said unit being connected to the control signal shaper (7), while its output is connected to the control input of the electronic switch (5). The ignition coil (1) and the capacitance unit (8) form an oscillatory L-C network, while the pulse-series shaping unit (6) is designed for an output frequency exactly equal to or an exact fractional multiple of the resonance frequency of the L-C network. The system ensures uninterrupted discharge in the spark plugs and allows the duration and power of the discharge to be matched to the working mode of the engine.</p> |
