New organosilyl or organosiloxanyl derivs. of glycerol ethers, of formula RCH2C(R)HCH2R (I) are claimed. R = OH, -OCH2CH=CH-(CH2)3-CH=CH2, -(R<5>)a-R<6> or -OCH2-CH=CH-(CH2)5-R4 (II) and at least 1 R = (II); R<4> = silyl gp. of formula SiR<1>R<2>R<3> or a chain or branched organosiloxanyl gp. with 2-200 Si; R<1>,R<2>,R<3> = aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon gps.; R<5> = -O(CH2)b or a polyether gp. of formula -(OCnH2n)c; b = 1;11; n = 2-2.5; c = 1-21; R<6> = -OSO3X or -OR<7>; X = H, alkali or (substd.) ammonium; R<7> = H, 1-4C alkyl or acetyl; a = 0 or 1; and if R<6> = -OR<7>, then a = 1.
