The electrical plug connector contact element is in the form of a metal pressing (10). The contact region is formed by a pair of spring arms (1,2) with enlarged contact pads (3,4) at the tips. The lower section is shaped to fit around the features of the housing. The spring arms are deflected to receive an inserted pin and to provide adequate contact force.
