PURPOSE:To realize characteristics of high performance, low noises, and low pollution in a diesel engine by sufficiently suppressing diesel knocks in the case that fuel having low cetane number is used in proper pilot injection. CONSTITUTION:A newly branched oil passage 21 is formed on the way of a fuel oil passage 6 which connects a plunger chamber 9 to a poppet valve chamber 8. A hydraulic piston 24 and a spring 26 are formed in the oil passage. Setting force of the spring 26 which regulates operation starting of the hydraulic piston 24 is set lower than a needle valve opening pressure of an injection nozzle. A throttle 22 is provided between the hydraulic piston 24 and the branched oil passage 21. A drain is arranged from a back chamber of the hydraulic piston for feeding leaked oil to the drain from a sliding portion of the hydraulic piston 24.
