<p>PURPOSE:To make stairs available for easy walking-up for persons by a method wherein the difference in level on horizontal parts of a handrail formed in a united body by connecting alternately horizontal parts and perpendicular parts is made to be equal to the height of two steps in the stairs. CONSTITUTION:A handrail for stairs 3 and 3 is formed in a united body in a stairs-like shape by connecting alternately horizontal parts 2 and perpendicular parts 1. The difference in level H1 on adjoining two horizontal parts 2 is made to be equal to the height H3 of two steps in the stairs 3. When a person walks up the stairs 3 with the horizontal part 2 of the handrail seized in hold by his hand, force is applied perpendicularly downward to the handrail, and perpendicularly upward force is applied to the person as a reaction. Therefore, walking-up the stairs 3 becomes easy for the person. By constructing the horizontal parts 2 in two tiers of upper and lower parts, the handrail becomes useful for both of tall and short persons.</p> |
