PURPOSE: To improve the adaptability to the higher speed of a loom by stroking a loom heald to a high degree by the force transmission from a dobby machine via an adjusting device having an adjusting mechanism, tightening means and clamping means. CONSTITUTION: A block 80 and an oscillation arm 6 are adjusted by means of an adjusting plate 98 welded to a tubular body 50 as the adjusting mechanism 5 seated slidably, adjustably and tightenably onto the oscillation arm 6 in two directions oriented to a perpendicular to each other of the adjusting device interposed into the coupling path between the oscillation arm of the dobby loom and the heald of the loom. The U-shaped stirrup-like clamping body 10 consisting of an elastic material disposed on the corresponding side of the oscillation arm 6 is pressed by the effect of the tightening means consisting of a wedge body 95, a pair of expanding wedge bodies 96 and 97 and an adjusting screw 72, and the force acting on the adjusting plate 98 from the coupling rod to an opening mechanism is directly transmitted to the oscillation arm 6 by the friction force of both leg parts 11 and 12 thereof.
