PURPOSE:To remove the foreign matter contained in a recovered developer and prevent the image defect by the developer to be reused by providing means for arranging two pieces of rotatable electrostatic rollers applied with the potential of the polarities reverse from the polarities of electrostatically charged particles opposite to each other above and below via a meshed filter. CONSTITUTION:A flexible sheet 21 holding the meshed filter 20 consisting of a nonconductive material is supported in a frame body 19 of the separating device 18 by a supporting member 22. A driving motor 23 connected with a cam 24 as a means for applying vibrations to the meshed filter 20 is installed to the supporting member 22. Further, two pieces of the electrostatic rollers 25, 26 impressed with the voltage of the polarities reverse from the polarities of the electrostatic charging polarities of the developer are respectively freely rotatably disposed above and below the meshed filter 20. The developer is supplied from a transporting screw 27 to the one electrostatic roller 25 and is attracted thereon by electrostatic force. At this time, a slight amt. of the carriers (magnetic materials) mixed into the developer are dropped by the repulsive force from the one electrostatic roller 25, are captured by a brush 33 having an electrostatic member 34 and are recovered into a recovering section 36. |
