A push-button (10) for unlocking a lock mechanism for a door, which lock mechanism comprises a latch mechanism (11) which is mounted in the door frame (32), for instance on its upper and/or lower edge, and in its locking position locks the door to the door frame. The lock mechanism comprises further a push-button (10) for unlocking the latch mechanism (11), and a rod (12, 14) which transmits the movement of the push-button (10) to the latch mechanism (11). In the push-button (10) there is disposed a lock (50), the latch (54) of which can be turned so that it prevents the movement of the push-button and locks the rod (12, 14) in the desired position. The rod is preferably a pull rod (12, 14) which is connected to the latch mechanism (11) so that in the active position of the push-button, when the push-button is depressed, it keeps the latch mechanism (11) in the unlatched position and, in the rest position of the push-button, allows the latch mechanism (11) to move freely from the unlatched to the latching position. |
